The North Dakota Scholarship, valued at $6,000, is intended to support eligible graduates attending approved colleges, universities, professional schools, and registered apprenticeship programs within North Dakota. The scholarship’s requirements follow the state’s Choice Ready framework, but note that the scholarship criteria are stricter than the baseline Choice Ready expectations. NDDSVC’s Women’s Opportunity Scholarship supports low-income women who are either planning to begin or are already enrolled in a college, university, or vocational/trade program in North Dakota. The scholarship’s goal is to help recipients overcome poverty and improve their own and their families’ lives—intellectually, culturally, and environmentally.
Eligibility requirements
- Meet the low-income threshold as defined by the federal poverty guidelines.
- Be a current resident of North Dakota.
- Plan to attend, or be currently attending, a North Dakota college, university, or trade school. Limited exceptions may be considered for applicants who live along North Dakota’s borders.

Overview
The North Dakota Veterinary Medical Association Scholarship Fund was created in September 1997 to support North Dakota students pursuing careers in veterinary medicine and to strengthen veterinary education within the state. In 2025, the Fund awarded 14 scholarships, with individual awards ranging from $750 to $1,450. Scholarships are distributed on an annual basis.
