Overview Each year GLA awards the Hana Uno Shepard Memorial Scholarship to support a graduating high school senior. The award can be used at any accredited college, university, community college, fine arts institution, or vocational school. In addition to the scholarship, the recipient receives four years of JACL student membership provided by GLA. Overview The Maine Golf Scholarship Fund, founded in 1950, has provided more than $2.3 million in scholarships to deserving high school graduates representing all 16 counties of Maine. Administration Scholarships are awarded each year by the Scholarship Fund Committee, which is made up of Maine Golf Board members, staff, and volunteers. Each year the Board selects a group of students to be named CFM MVPs. Recipients are evaluated on academic performance and involvement in extracurricular activities, demonstrated dedication to community service, and confirmed acceptance to college.
