Huston Family Scholarship
Scholarship Sponsored by Community Foundation Fox Valley Region
The Huston family places a high value on education and established this scholarship to help students who might otherwise lack the means to continue their schooling and pursue their academic and career goals.
Eligibility (factors considered when selecting recipients)
- Graduating seniors from any of these public high schools:
- Appleton East High School
- Appleton North High School
- Appleton West High School
- Neenah High School
- Menasha High School
- Intending to enroll full time at a University of Wisconsin System campus or a Wisconsin Technical College
- Cumulative GPA between 2.5 and 3.25
- Clear motivation and a focused plan toward career and educational objectives
- Financial need will be taken into account
Award amount
- Three scholarships of $4,000 each, applied to tuition. Payments are disbursed as $2,000 for the first semester and $2,000 for the second semester of the student’s first year of postsecondary study.
Selection process
- Recipients are recommended each spring by the Community Foundation Scholarship Selection Committee.
Receiving the award and payment instructions
- Awardees must submit the Scholarship Acceptance Form and the Scholarship Verification Form through the Scholarship Portal: https://www.grantinterface.com/Home/Logon?urlkey=cffvrscholar.
- The Verification Form requires supporting documents (for example: class registration or class list showing credits, proof of declared major, transcripts, etc.).
- Once the online Verification Form is approved, the scholarship funds are sent directly to the recipient’s college or university.
- The Community Foundation communicates by email; recipients are responsible for keeping their Scholarship Portal account current with a working email address.
Loss of eligibility
- The scholarship will be forfeited if the student does not remain a full-time student or falls below a 2.5 GPA while enrolled at a University of Wisconsin System institution or a Wisconsin Technical College.
