Overview
The American Culinary Federation Education Foundation (ACFEF), with support from the American Academy of Chefs (AAC), offers a limited number of scholarships each year to students pursuing culinary, pastry, or foodservice education.
Award amounts
- Apprenticeship programs: up to $1,500
- Certificate programs: up to $1,500
- Postsecondary degree programs: up to $2,500
Deadlines
Scholarship applications are accepted twice yearly: April 30 and October 31.
Who is eligible
- Must be an outstanding student with a cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher.
- Must be accepted to an accredited school and enrolled in a culinary, pastry, or foodservice-related program.
How applications are reviewed
- Applications are evaluated by a scholarship selection committee using a point-based system.
- Points are awarded for factors including GPA, participation in culinary competitions, volunteer service related to culinary activities, and involvement with ACF.
- Decisions (award or denial) will be communicated by email within 30 business days after the application deadline.
Additional notes
- Applicants who still need financial assistance in later years are encouraged to apply again.
- The ACF reserves the right to revoke any scholarship at any time if a recipient fails to maintain required academic progress or is found to have submitted false information.
