Virginia High School League Scholarships
Scholarship Sponsored by Allstate Foundation
Introduction
The Virginia High School League (VHSL), together with the VHSL Foundation, awards post-secondary scholarships each year to help Virginia seniors pursue their academic and career goals. These scholarships represent a commitment to investing in Virginia’s young people and supporting their next steps after high school.
Important deadlines and eligibility
- VHSL scholarship applications for 2026 are open now and must be submitted by March 1, 2026. Note: only students who have been nominated by their school are eligible to apply for VHSL scholarship opportunities.
- James River Equipment scholarship applications are available to any qualifying student (no nomination required) and will remain open through March 31, 2026.
- Only students graduating from VHSL member schools are eligible for VHSL-specific awards unless otherwise noted (e.g., James River Equipment scholarships).
How schools should handle nominations and the application link
School counselors, College & Career Specialists (CCS), Division Student Activities (DSA) contacts, and principals are responsible for selecting students to nominate according to each scholarship’s nomination allotment and rules. Once nominees are chosen, school officials should provide each student with:
- the online application link,
- the scholarship category the student will apply for, and
- the school’s VHSL classification number.
Students complete and submit their own applications online. If you oversee your school’s scholarship nominations and have not received the application link, please contact Assistant Director Samantha Savage at ssavage@vhsl.org.
