Mugget Scholarship
Scholarship Sponsored by Horticulture Research Institute
Introduction / Background The Mugget Scholarship traces its roots to the Mugget Growers of America (MGA), an informal association started in 1981 to serve as a social, educational and fundraising network within the green industry. MGA members convene each year to exchange information on plant development and industry trends and to raise support for research and scholarship projects administered through the Horticultural Research Institute. To help prepare the next generation of horticulture professionals, the membership decided to allocate proceeds from their activities to student scholarships. The Mugget Scholarship embodies the group’s emphasis on cooperation, learning, and support for aspiring horticulture practitioners across the United States.
