Overview
The Oregon Sheep Growers Association provides a scholarship of up to $1,500 to support Oregon students pursuing education in agriculture-related disciplines. Funds are intended to help cover direct educational costs such as tuition, textbooks, and academic fees, and are aimed at students with an interest in careers connected to the sheep industry.
Eligibility
- Must be a resident of Oregon. Attendance at an Oregon college or university is not required.
- Must be at least a sophomore (academic standing of sophomore or higher).
- Must be enrolled in or planning to major in an agriculture-related program, agricultural sciences, or pre‑veterinary medicine, and demonstrate a career interest in the sheep industry.
- Applications for the upcoming academic year must be received by the Oregon Sheep Growers Association (OSGA) no later than July 15 of the current year.
How to Apply
Submit a completed cover sheet together with the following documents:
- A personal essay that outlines your career plans and long-term goals.
- Official transcript(s) showing all college coursework completed.
- Two letters of recommendation.
Selection and Award
A selection committee will choose the recipient. The scholarship will be announced and presented in the fall. The award check will be issued payable to both the recipient and the educational institution the student is attending.
