Introductory summary
The North Dakota Veterinary Medical Association (NDVMA) Scholarship Fund was created in September 1997 to support North Dakota students who are pursuing careers in veterinary medicine and to strengthen veterinary education within the state. Applications are accepted each year from January 15 through June 15. In 2025, the Fund awarded fourteen scholarships, each ranging from $750 to $1,450.

How to apply
- Application window: any time between January 15 and June 15.
- Final deadline (postmark): June 15, 2026.
- Online application: go to NDCF.net → select “Scholarships” under the Receive tab → scroll to Statewide Scholarships → choose “ND Veterinary Medical Association Endowment Scholarship.” Follow the prompts to create an account and complete your application.

Eligibility criteria
Applicants must meet all of the following:
- Graduated from a North Dakota high school or been a North Dakota resident for the two years immediately prior to applying.
- Have been accepted to, or be actively enrolled in, the professional program of any AVMA-accredited College of Veterinary Medicine.

The Fund’s Advisory Committee may, at its discretion, weigh financial need and a demonstrated intention to return to North Dakota to practice veterinary medicine when prioritizing candidates.

Application requirements and instructions
Please read and follow these instructions carefully:
- Type or print legibly.
- Answer every question to the best of your ability; estimated financial figures are acceptable.
- First-time applicants must complete all questions and submit every requested document by the deadline.
- Returning applicants do not need to resend references or residency verification if those items are already on file with the NDVMA. However, the following materials are required for all returning applicants to have their application considered:
- Current college transcripts. Transcripts may be sent directly by the school, and “unofficial” transcripts downloaded from the college website are acceptable.
- An updated autobiography describing your experiences, goals, priorities, and any developments since starting veterinary college.
- An updated financial information sheet.

Reminder: applications must be postmarked by June 15, 2026.
