Overview The Women at Microsoft Inclusion Network, in partnership with The Seattle Foundation, sponsors a scholarship to support students who plan to pursue college or vocational training in fields related to technology, engineering, mathematics, or computer science. Status: Open Deadline: March 16, 2026 — 3:00 PM CT Eligible institutions: Community or technical colleges, four-year universities, vocational-technical or trade schools Geographic scope: National (United States) Who may apply To be eligible for the Women at Microsoft Scholarship applicants must: - Be a graduating high school senior. - Intend to enroll full time in an accredited U.S. two- or four-year college, university, or vocational-technical school for the upcoming academic year, in a program related to technology, engineering, mathematics, or computer science. - Have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent). Notes on eligibility - International students may apply if they will be enrolled at a U.S. college or university. - Microsoft employees and their children are not eligible. - Awards are for undergraduate study only. Previous recipients are not eligible to reapply. Award details - Each selected student will receive a $5,000 scholarship. - Up to 16 awards will be made. - Scholarships are one-time awards only (single-year). Notification timeline - All applicants will be informed of decisions in June. - Notifications are sent by email. When creating your application account, do not use a school or employer email address; use a personal email you will retain access to. - Add studentsupport@scholarshipamerica.org and the program’s email address to your safe-sender/contact list. Payment procedures - Scholarship America administers payments on behalf of The Seattle Foundation. - Payments are issued in early August and made payable to the recipient’s institution; funds are mailed directly to the school. How recipients are chosen Finalists are determined by Scholarship America; Microsoft makes the final recipient selections. Criteria considered include: - Academic achievement - Leadership and involvement in school and community activities - Work experience - A written statement outlining educational and career goals - Significant personal or family circumstances - An online recommendation Demonstrated financial need, as calculated by Scholarship America, is required in order to receive an award. Final decision Not all applicants will receive scholarships. All applicants agree to accept the selection decisions as final.
