Curwen-Guidry-Blackburn Scholarship Fund
Scholarship Sponsored by Southern Bowling Congress
Introduction
The Southern Bowling Congress is committed to investing in the next generation of bowlers. To support their educational goals, SBC administers the Jacques Curwen/Jay Guidry/Bill Blackburn Scholarship Fund, which awards a one-year $1,000 scholarship to the college or university chosen by the recipient. To date, the SBC has awarded more than $106,000 in scholarships to deserving youth.
Who is eligible
This scholarship is open to male and female senior youth bowlers who reside in Southern Bowling Congress member states and meet the requirements listed below.

Eligibility and application requirements
To be considered for an SBC scholarship you must meet every item on this list:
1. Be a high school senior currently participating in a USBC-certified Youth league.
2. Have participated in a USBC-certified Youth league for at least three of your four high school years and have bowled at least 75% of the league schedule.
3. Submit an official high school transcript showing grades and credits for a minimum of six semesters and including documentation of your ACT and/or SAT scores.
4. Include a personal letter of recommendation from your high school principal, counselor, or a teacher.
5. Have a minimum ACT composite score of 20 or a SAT composite score of 1410.
6. Have a cumulative GPA of at least 2.50 on a 4.0 scale.
7. If selected as a scholarship recipient, continue bowling in your USBC-certified Youth league through the end of the league schedule; failure to do so may result in rescission of the scholarship.
8. Return the completed application and all required attachments to the Executive Director of the Southern Bowling Congress by March 15 of the year you are applying to be considered.
9. Accept that the Southern Bowling Congress’ decisions are final on all matters related to scholarship interpretation and recipient selection.
