Introduction The EGIA Foundation's HVAC HERO Scholarship was created to recognize and assist outstanding students who are pursuing technical training in HVAC. This award is intended to help those training for careers in residential HVAC or home performance contracting by providing meaningful financial aid. Scholarship Details Each year, up to 30 qualifying applicants receive a $2,500 scholarship to help cover tuition at an accredited community college, a technical/vocational school, or an approved technical institute while they work toward an HVAC certificate or degree. Program Impact The HVAC HERO Scholarship increases access to HVAC education and expands career pathways across the United States. Key program results to date demonstrate the Foundation’s influence in the field: Program Statistics - 165 scholarships awarded - $407,000 in tuition funding provided - Recipients from 39 states - Students attended 120 different schools Why Choose a Career in HVAC? - You want a role that makes a tangible, positive difference in your community - You prefer being active on the job instead of sitting at a desk - You don’t want to spend four or more years in school after high school - You’d like to avoid taking on large amounts of debt to get trained - You aspire to run your own business in the future - You enjoy hands-on work and staying current with emerging technologies Eligibility The scholarship is open to U.S. high school seniors and recent high school graduates who have at least a 2.0 GPA and who are enrolled — or plan to enroll — in an HVAC technical program for the full academic year. Qualified applicants are eligible for the $2,500 award.
